Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
Dr David Emvula is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist dedicated to providing the best health care to women of all ages. His goal is to keep women healthy for a lifetime by optimising health, preventing disease, identifying problems and providing a level of care and attention that is both professional and compassionate.
Dr David Emvula completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Pretoria in 2011 and completed his medical internship at Witbank Hospital in 2013. After practicing as a medical officer in obstetrics and gynaecology at Katutura state hospital and Kalafong Tertiary Provincial Hospital, he subsequently enrolled for training as a specialist in 2017. In October 2020, he obtained a Fellowship of College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologist (College of Medicine SA) and in the same year he completed a Master’s degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with University of Pretoria, South Africa.
He also completed a Basic Laparoscopy Surgical Skills Course with the University of Pretoria Endoscopy Unit and has an European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) Bachelor in Endoscopy and GESEA Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgeon Certificate (MIGS Certificate) Level 1 and Level 2 Accredited by European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery (EAGS). Additionally, he received additional training in ultrasound scanning during pregnancy from The Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) in the United Kingdom and is an FMF accredited practitioner. In February 2024 Dr Emvula obtained a Master’s Degree in Sexual and Reproductive Medicine from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom. Furthermore, he holds an Advanced Diploma in Reproductive medicine and Embryology from Kiel School, Germany.
Dr David Emvula has a special interest and passion about minimally invasive surgery (endoscopy) as well as Reproductive medicine and Infertility care. Dr Emvula is a Part-time Fellow in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Tygerberg Hospital and Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital under the University of Stellenbosch. He is a member of SASOG, SASREG, SASGE, ISUOG, EAGS, ESGE, BSGE, ESHRE and ASRM.
